This 7-day Botswana highlights safari begins in Victoria Falls, departing straight into Botswana for an unforgettable journey. The adventure continues to the vast Makgadikgadi Pans, offering striking landscapes and magical sunset experiences. Travel onward to Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta, where mokoro canoe rides and guided nature walks provide a close connection to nature. The journey ends back in Victoria Falls, combining wildlife, scenery, and authentic safari experiences across Botswana's most iconic destinations.
Chobe National Park is one of Africa's premier safari destinations, famous for its large elephant population and rich wildlife diversity. Located along the Chobe River, the park offers exceptional game viewing with frequent sightings of lions, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and numerous bird species. A highlight of any visit is the afternoon to sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River. This relaxing experience provides a different perspective of the park, as animals gather along the riverbanks to drink and cool off. Elephants are often seen swimming, while hippos and crocodiles thrive in the water. As the sun sets, the sky reflects beautifully over the river, creating a peaceful and scenic end to the day, perfect for photography and unforgettable safari moments.
A safari in Chobe National Park offers unforgettable morning and afternoon game drives, each providing a unique wildlife experience. The early morning drive begins at sunrise, when temperatures are cool and animals are most active. Predators such as lions and leopards may still be on the move, while elephants, buffalo, and antelope gather near water sources to drink. After a midday rest, the afternoon game drive resumes as the heat eases. Wildlife becomes active again, and the golden light creates perfect conditions for photography. Herds of elephants — Chobe's signature attraction — are often seen in large numbers, alongside giraffes, zebras, and diverse birdlife. Both drives are led by experienced guides who track animals and share insights, ensuring a rich, educational, and thrilling safari experience in one of Africa's top wildlife destinations.
The Makgadikgadi Salt Pans are among the largest salt flats in the world, located in northeastern Botswana. These vast, shimmering plains are the remnants of an ancient super-lake that dried up thousands of years ago, leaving behind a surreal, lunar-like landscape of white salt crust stretching to the horizon. During the dry season, the pans appear barren and stark, offering dramatic scenery and incredible stargazing under clear skies. However, in the rainy season, parts of the pans fill with water, attracting thousands of flamingos and migratory birds, along with wildlife such as zebras and wildebeest during one of Africa's lesser-known migrations. Nearby areas like Nata Bird Sanctuary become vibrant with birdlife. Visitors can enjoy quad biking, guided walks with meerkats, and cultural experiences with local communities, making the Makgadikgadi a uniquely diverse and captivating destination.
An overnight excursion trip to the Okavango Delta offers a rewarding glimpse into one of Africa's most unique wetlands. The journey begins with a scenic road transfer to the delta's edge, where local guides welcome you. You then glide through narrow channels in a traditional mokoro, quietly navigating reed-lined waterways while spotting birds and aquatic life. Reaching a secluded island, you enjoy guided nature walks, learning about animal tracks, plants, and the delicate ecosystem. Wildlife such as antelope and smaller species may be seen. After a relaxing picnic and time to absorb the tranquil surroundings, you return by mokoro and transfer back to Maun the same day.
It is the gateway into the Okavango Delta, Moremi and Kalahari for main tourists in Botswana. It is the tourism capital and administrative centre of Ngamiland district and the seat of power of the Batawana people. We drive passing between Nxai and Makgadikgadi national park enroute to Maun, high opportunity to see game. The afternoon is set aside to do optional scenic flight over the delta either small flight or helicopter.
Elephant Sands is a conservancy in Botswana. Elephant Sands drills boreholes to provide supplemental water for the animals as they traverse the land escaping threats of human-wildlife conflict, poaching and drought. Elephants congregate at the natural waterhole right in front of the lodge.
Victoria Falls serves as a natural border between Zambia and Zimbabwe approximately two-thirds of the falls located in Zimbabwe. The tour ends after lunch in Victoria Falls.
